Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. Her first feature film appearance was a tiny part on her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). In the following film, she portrayed Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was a model after she was approached. The result was that it turned out to be an extremely lucrative profession. Doody stringently avoided glamour and sexually explicit work. This was a policy she extended to her acting profession. She was cast in a minor role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was spotted by the casting director. Doody was listed within John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3 as one of the 12 top actors of 1986. 38. Still only 18 at the time she acted in the film, Doody was and is the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997) with Mickey Rourke, also featured one of her roles as IRA Siobhan. Doody was seen as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. She played Lilias. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody portrayed Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took probably her most high-profile part ever as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Then she moved to Hollywood. She replaced Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson character. Doody then appeared as Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent, opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II was released in 1994. Doody who was off acting for more than 10 years, returned in 2003 to take on a tiny role of The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her in a scene at an awards ceremony. Doody was a co-star, along together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. Doody made an appearance in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. The following year, she had been scheduled scheduled to take on the role of lead in The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. The actress began her two seasons on The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. The following year, she appeared as Pam Jefferson on We Still Kill the Old Way. The film was awarded the Almeria film award on November 21, 2018.
